Militant captured in Kashmir a Pakistani

Jammu, Aug 5 (IANS): A militant captured on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir after an ambush on a BSF convoy is a Pakistani, police sources said.

The young militant, identified as Qasim Khan, is from the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist group and hails from Gujranwala in Pakistan, the sources said.

He was part of a militant gang that attacked the Border Security Force convoy killing two troopers and injuring 11 on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Udhampur district earlier in the morning.

The attackers then fled to a village where they took three people hostage. Security forces encircled the village and later freed the hostages -- and captured the Pakistani terrorist.
