Bantwal, Jun 11:  Police had to resort to caning to disperse two local Hindu organizations who were engaged in a heated argument at Raghavendra Katte near Vittal here on Sunday June 10 night.

It is said that local Hindu Yuva Sene activists went to enquire on behalf of two youth who were beaten up for eve-teasing at Raghavendra Katte on Saturday June 9 night.  Local leader Jaya Kottari and his friend served an ultimatum to Tilak and Prakash, who were allegedly teasing the girls on Saturday night.

Both youths who were beaten up were believed to be members of Hindu Yuva Sene.  Accordingly about 50 members of Hindu Yuva Sene led by its leader Harish went to enquire Jaya Kottari.  At this time both the parties exchanged heated argument and even were up in arms a little while later.

However, as soon as the police received the news, they came to the place and dispersed the youth. They have also recovered the motor cycles from them.  No cases are filed in Vittal police station.

At the backdrop of increasing cases of eve-teasing, police have swiftly taken the action to curb it at the earliest.
