Mangalore, Jun 12:  Mani Krishnaswamy Memorial Music Foundation (MKMF) will soon start online Carnatic Music lessons.

This is indeed going to be a boon to all classical music lovers and students of city.  P Prarthana Rao a disciple of Dr Krishnaswamy fondly called Dr Maniamma will be the first teacher of this innovative online classical music class.  According to the president of the foundation Nityananda initially there will be two learning centres, one at his house “Anupallavi” at Suratkal and the other at Kodialbail here.

Rao further stated that this will be a new learning experience for the students with online video conferencing. In the beginning only limited students will be enrolled to learn basic level music lessons. The budding new generation of students starting out in the music world will now be able to learn, even the most complicated stages of music once they are attuned to this medium, he said. Moreover, Prarthana would be able to guide and correct her students online as she will be able to see her class personally. The foundation had also experimented with another very popular musical event called “Griha Sangeetha Maalika” which met with great success in the city. This event in its third year now draws students from all over the district, stated Rao.

Prarthana stated that a class of 10 students in her batch will be an ideal number. And her endeavor would be to bring her students to the performance level at the earliest. In addition to these classes there will also be an extention of online activities by the online music academy.  It will feature workshops in music, talks and lectures, dialogues and seminars.
