Udupi, Jun.12: A housewife hailing from Badami taluk in Bagalkot district was found murdered in Kundel woods near here on Tuesday June 12 morning.  The police sources said that she was murdered by her husband on Sunday June 10 but the murder came to light on Tuesday when her body was found.

The police sources said that one Rudre Gowda (30) murdered his wife Gowravva (18) suspecting her fidelity.  Her body was found on Tuesday morning in a decomposed state. 

Rudre Gowda, a migrant labourer from Badami, was staying with her wife at Santhekatte for the last two years.  He hatched a plan to kill his wife after suspecting about her fidelity to him.

Accordingly he said that he had bought new house in Manipal andtook her along with her brother Basava to Kundel woods.

It is said that after reaching the woods, he tied Basava to one tree and pulled his wife Gowravva along the way for some distance before strangling her to death.  The murder came to light when some locals had gone to the woods to answer nature’s call on Tuesday morning.  He saw Basava and released him from bonds and informed the police.

The DCIB police came to the spot almost immediately and arrested Basava and Rudre Gowda and handed them over to Manipal police.
