Mangalore Jun 13: Under National Family Welfare Scheme every beneficiary has been granted Rs 10,000 said district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty.

All together 90 women beneficiaries have been granted Rs 9 lac.  Victims of the communal riots that took place in Bantwal were granted Rs 12,500 each.

The task of providing drinking water is under progress and the government is undertaking all the possible measures to eradicate poverty, he said.

Udupi MP Monorama Madhwaraj, ZP member M Thungappa Bangera, Santosh Kumar Bhandary, taluk panchayat president Sunitha Padmanabha, vice-president Usman Karopadi, standing committee president Sesappa Gowda, taluk panchayat opposition party leader N Subbanna Shetty Sarapadi and others were the guest on the dais.

Bantwal tashildar C S Manjunath welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks.
