Udupi / Brahmavar, Jun 14: A man who walking towards his field was electrocuted when he stepped on a live wire and died on the spot here on Wednesday June 13.

The deceased has been identified as Timma Poojary (75), a resident of Handady village, which comes under the jurisdiction of Brahmavar police station.

According to the police, as Timma Poojary was walking towards his field, a live electric wire which was lying across his path and he accidentally stepped on it. Sustaining a severe shock, he reportedly died on the spot.

It is not known if the wire was lying three for a long time and if it was a case of negligence.

A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station.
