Mangalore, Jun 15: “The victory of Ullal MLA, U T Khader and Ahinda-backed candidate in Chamundeshwari is a sign of people maintaining secular principles” said Abu Sufiyan Madani, director of Sunni Students Federation (SSF), at a felicitation function, organized by Ahinda, to honour Ullal MLA, U T Khader, at the Town Hall, here, on Thursday, Jun 14.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that, residents of Ullal had resolutely voted against communal forces.  He further said that, communal clashes also hinder economic growth apart from affecting the innocent people from the lower strata of the society.

Fr William Martis, parish priest of Bolkunje church lamented that the younger generation is leaning towards non-secular ideologies.  He further said that, it is a proper time to start a movement against communal forces.

K Mukundappa, state president of Ahinda said that, U T Khader’s victory in Ullal by-polls was the victory for the nation and secular principles.
