Mangalore, Jun 15: The last date for applying for the Manipal Arogya Card ’07 has been extended to Monday June 25, stated a press release.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), as part of its social commitment had introduced Manipal Arogya Card 2006 to provide quality healthcare at affordable cost to the members. Manipal Arogya Card provides the members an ideal opportunity to avail large benefits by way of in-patient and out-patient treatment at the Manipal Health Systems Network Hospitals. Manipal Arogya Card-holder will receive his investment back as discounts from just two usages, the release stated.

Benefits include 10 per cent special concession to senior citizens above 65 years of age, free consultations with any specialist / super specialist doctor any number of times in a year; 20 per cent discount on lab and diagnostic tests or 10 per cent discount on medicines; free bed facility in general ward with no nursing, operation or attendant charges etc.

There is no limit to the number of times or amount on usage of Manipal Arogya Card.

Manipal Arogya Card is a unique scheme where the discount on treatment can be availed on pre-existing diseases also. Manipal Arogya Card is priced at just Rs 200 for an individual card and Rs 450 for a family card. Family includes the card holder, spouse and any number of children below 21 years of age. An add-on card is also available for the parents of primary card holder under family card scheme for Rs 100 per parent.

Applications for the scheme are available at all Manipal Health Systems Network Hospitals and Corporation Bank Branches in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttar Kannada districts and in North Kerala till 25th June, added Dr Saraswat in the press release.

The card holder can avail of the benefits available under the Manipal Arogya Card scheme for a period of one year from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008. A 24 hour Helpline – 0820-2571967 has also been set-up to provide more information on the scheme, the release stated.
