Mangalore, Jun 17: The Mangalore Toastmasters Club had a short, but significant ceremony on the evening  of Saturday,  2nd  June at which the newly elected Executive Committee was installed under the President ship of M.N.Pai, a founder member of the club. 

Chief Guest,  Captain John Prasad Menezes  delivered the Key note address. He lauded the club and the outgoing President on their achievements and inspired the Incoming team to soar to even greater heights. 

Outgoing President,  Winston D’Souza, welcomed the gathering and listed out the achievements of the club during his tenure.  Some of them included achieving the Smedley Award from the Toastmasters International, achieving the President’s Distinguished Club Status, hosting the Area 9 Contest, organizing the “Save Kadri Park” elocution competition for High School students of the city.

M.N. Pai CTM CL is the new President.

Secretary: Savita Shenoy
Vice President Education: Anita Cordeiro, CC
Vice President Membership: Sukanya Rao, CTM
Vice President Public Relations: Sujatha Kotian, CTM
Treasurer: Nivedita Mirajkar
Sergeant At Arms: Sumana Ghate. 

Dr. Pramod Giri, Area Governor of Area 9, conducted the Installation Ceremony.  It was a solemn moment when he led the oath for the Incoming President and all the club members stood up to pledge their loyalty and support to the new President and his team. 

M.N.Pai is a Chartered Account by Profession.  He is presently the Manager of Achal Group of Industries.  His keen interest in Public speaking brought him into Toastmasters.  He is a Founder Member of Mangalore Toastmasters Club and has risen to the President’s post by working as the Secretary, Treasurer and other roles during the past years.   

Bharathi Shevgoor, the President elect of Winners Club congratulated both the President and the club on the occasion.  She expressed her confidence in the new President whom she knew as a close friend. 

DTM and District Governor elect, Mrs. Matilda Pinto too addressed the gathering.

Other dignitaries included  Samina Naik,  Phyllis D’Costa,  Malini Hebbar,  Urmila Shetty, and  Molly Choudary

Abha Somesh compeered the program. 

A short entertainment program by the children capped the evening.
