Mangalore, Jun 18: The district employment exchange and Diya Systems jointly organized a job fair at Government PU College, Balmatta here on Saturday, June 16. More than 400 job aspirants participated in this fair.

The job fair was inaugurated by district in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty in the presence of deputy commissioner Maheshwara Rao and MLA Yogish Bhat. Dr Ravichandra, MD of Diya Systems too was present on the occasion.

The fair was held to recruit about 150 technical support representatives to Diya Systems, an affiliate of a US based web posting company. A significant point to be noted is that earlier government employment exchanges would usually recruit only for public sector enterprises. However this initiative of a job fair by the district employment exchange along with a private enterprise is indeed a rare case of public-private partnership, auguring well for future such endeavors.

The candidates selected on June 16 will be called for interviews. They will be trained by the company after being recruited.
