Mangalore, Jun 18: The ever-increasing chock-a-block on road by vehicles has been a cause of major worry both for the administration and people in the city.

This was proved true once again on Monday June 18 evening at Kankanady. There was a large traffic jam in the city near Kankanady area, here, especially on the road leading from Balmatta to Kankanady on Monday evening.

This was a rush hour traffic jam. All kinds of vehicles could be seen, including trucks, oil tankers, water tankers, excavators, buses, cars, autos, two wheelers etc.

Very few traffic cops were seen trying to control the traffic but in vain. All the vehicle users were expectedly angry and impatient which added to the prevailing confusion and unnecessary delay for everyone.

Mangalore is growing at a rapid rate. It might do good if specific traffic rules are initiated, especially for the peak hours in the morning and evening so that the traffic rush could be diverted efficiently.
