Mangalore, Jun.18: Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI) of Dakshina Kannada district and a Block Education Officer (BEO), are suspended by the state education department for giving wrong information to the department about the medium of instruction in many schools in the district.

Students are taught in English medium in majority of schools in the town.  However, both BEO Walter D'Mello and DDPI Shankarappa had reported that medium of instruction was Kannada in these schools.
