MANGALORE, Jun 18: Team Mangalore, a group of kite fliers from here has been adjudged the "Best International Kite Flier Team" at an annual kite festival in the United Kingdom.

The group with kites like Yakshagana, Kathakali, Bhoothada Kola received the "Best International Kite" award on June 3 from the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire Council, London, B Sarvesha Rao, founder of the team said on Monday.

As many as 26 teams from twelve countries participated in the kite festival, he said.

The team has also been invited to participate in the Diepe kite festival in Canada in the third week of August this year, he added.

Team Mangalore is also contemplating to host an international kite festival here during January 2008, he said.
