Mumbai, Sep 10 (IANS): After falling sharply in the morning session, a benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 160.69 points or 0.62 percent down during the afternoon session on Thursday.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading 57.50 points or 0.74 percent down at 7,761.10 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,522.96 points, was trading at 25,558.89 points (at 01.37 p.m.) in the afternoon session, down 160.69 points or 0.62 percent from the previous day's close at 25,719.58 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 25,593.59 points and a low of 25,287.50 points in the trade so far.
