Puttur, July 5: A raid was conducted by the Uppinangady police on an open place at Kudrya Nidle village iin Beltangady based on a credible tip-off. The police seized 260 arrack sachets of worth Rs 3380 which were kept illegally for sale. However the police were unable to nab the alleged culprit one Sanjeeva Poojary as he managed to flee from the scene.

Uppinangady police has registered a case of theft under Karnataka Excise Act.

    Where is so called protector of culture!?. Alcohol ruined millions of poor families, still it is larger issue. Instead of wasting time on cow slaughtering, shed a light on alcohol menace which pushed peaceful family pattern into brink. That is called noble work, not attacking a people who is serving the society.
