Mangalore, Jul 5: Thieves who broke open into a house at Kodialbail on Jail Road near here have decamped with 5 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 50,000 in cash on Wednesday July 4 night.

The said house belonged to one U Ravindra Naik and he and his wife were not present in the house at the time of theft.  Both of them had gone to their son's house on Wednesday.

Taking advantage of this situation thieves broke open into the house and decamped with valuables.  Ravindra and his wife came home on Thursday July 5 morning and realized that theft had taken place in their house.

A complaint has been filed in the Kadri police station in this regard. Sniffer dogs and finger print experts were summoned to the place too.
