UAE: Thumbay Hospital awarded medical tourism certification

UAE, Oct 17: Thumbay Group’s network of Thumbay/GMC hospitals in the UAE has been awarded the prestigious ‘Medical Travel Quality Alliance', for excellence in medical tourism.


The certificate, conferred after a review of the hospital’s facilities, remarked that the hospital meets 'the international standard of excellence for care and services to international patients and medical travelers'.

The award was received by Akbar Moideen Thumbay, director of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group and Benazir Ameer Ali, director of Thumbay international medical and health tourism department, from Julie W Monroe, president - medical travel quality alliance.

The award is the second major international recognition for Thumbay Group’s medical tourism initiatives, after ‘The New Economy’. One of the leading publications in the United Kingdom had recognized GMC (Thumbay) Hospital, Ajman, UAE as the best medical tourism provider in the Middle East, in 2013.
