Qatar Emir invites PM Narendra Modi to visit country

NEW DELHI, Nov 3 (NDTV) : Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, tonight called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to pay a visit there while expressing interest in partnering India's economic growth.

The Prime Minister accepted the invitation to visit Qatar at a mutually convenient date.

During the telephonic conversation, the two leaders discussed measures to further deepen bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of trade, investment, energy, security, defence, culture and people-to-people contacts.

The Emir of Qatar reiterated his nation's interest in partnering in India's economic growth while the prime minister appreciated the role being played by Qatar for regional peace and stability, a PMO statement said here.

The Prime Minister recalled the visit of the Emir of Qatar to India earlier this year in March and said it has provided new vigour and momentum to bilateral relations, it added.

He emphasised that India attached high importance to its relations with Qatar and appreciated the steps taken by the Emir and the government of Qatar for protecting the interests and ensuring the continued well-being and safety of the Indian community residing there.

this is all the result of oil price touching rock bottom and pak not helping sunni arab countries in yemen war and also discover of vast reserves of shale oil reserves in usa and other countries.now arab countries understood that they need to invest thier huge cash in other fields which will give them safe returns and which country is best to invest than india which is the worlds darling these days when it comes to invest and avail good returns.so evreybody is queing up for india like saudi arabia, uae, qatar, iran etc amd modi is a shrewd leadrt not to encash this to maximum extent.uae alredy committed 75 billion, qatar as per cnn/fox reports is investing $100 billion and saudi $120 billion in indias infrastructure and oil exploring facilities.so india economy will be in great upward curve during modis term and he has all the chances to become pm for 2nd term based on turning indias economy upside down in positive manner.

PMs visit to Qatar will be another flop show. Better remain in India work round the clock to bring stability in India, situation in India is such that every nook and corner there is one kind of unrest. Respect the Post of PM as you have taken oath and don't become the mere agent of RSS.

Very good thought/vision on India's economic perspectives and future achievements.
In the meantime there are some burning domestic issues which need to be rectified for peaceful co-existence. We need to enjoy freedom of choice on personal level. I do not want to elaborate.

It's not everyday that one would expect to get a call from the Emir of Qatar!

Having said that, Qatar is an important ally of India, partnering us for several ONGC efforts for Oil, one of our biggest suppliers of Oil, largest among GCC to employ immigrant Indians, we are 80% of total emmigrant population in Qatar, with 70% of those being Malayalis

Also Qatar is gearing up for 2022 World Cup, and next Afro Asian Games. There are innumerable projects which needs skilled manpower which only India can supply as of now (leaving China)

Modi's visit will have a historic effect on the International Relations between Qatar & India and with most GCC countries which is a WIN WIN for India.

I heard that Qatari government and the locals have good regards about India the citizens. Modi's visit may further enhance the friendly good relations for mutual benefit.
Good luck Modiji but please do not show your week points abusing and pointing finger at previous government. Arabs are not as dumb as we think about them. Exposing our own people will not bring credit to you, rather shows our internal disunity in the eyes of others.
