KEF Company donates AED 10 million to Al Jalila Foundation

Dubai, Nov 11: KEF Company Limited, a UAE-based multinational company, has announced a donation of AED 10 million to the Al Jalila Foundation towards health and wellness. The company is a global philanthropic organization dedicated to transforming lives through medical education and treatment.



KEF Company’s contribution will help Al Jalila Foundation in its cutting-edge research on cancer, obesity, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes and mental health. In addition, the two entities will collaborate to exchange know-how from their respective global networks and share the outcome and findings of new research on health and wellness.

Making the announcement at a media briefing, Faizal Kottikollon, chairman, KEF Company Limited said, “We are indeed extremely happy and proud to partner as founding members with Al Jalila Foundation in its noble mission to promote medical education and ground breaking research towards addressing health challenges in the region and globally. We hope that our contribution will stimulate even further exceptional academic standards in the medical arena that the foundation already upholds. We once again congratulate the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai and the UAE at the forefront of medical innovation.”

The Al Jalila Foundation aims to nurture a future generation of highly qualified medical professionals through offering postgraduate scholarships, research seed grants and international fellowships. The Al Jalila Foundation Research Centre, UAE’s first independent multi-disciplinary medical research centre, will bring together local and international scientists to address the region’s most pressing health challenges and is scheduled to open in 2016 at Dubai Healthcare City.

KEF, a UAE-based multinational holding company that specializes in off-site construction technology, is applying principles of industrial manufacturing to construction and incorporating robotic systems and computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing - which eliminates wastage while reducing time and costs significantly. The quality produced in offsite construction is much higher than traditional in-situ construction. The company is setting up the world's most automated facility for modular construction in Technopark in Dubai. This facility will be operational by June 2016 and will focus on building healthcare, hospitality, residential and commercial projects in the UAE, GCC and India.
