Dubai: Medical tourism conference to be held at Thumbay Hospital on Nov 26

Dubai, Nov 18: The 2nd annual international medical tourism conference will be organized by Thumbay Hospital on November 26 2015. 

H H Shaikh Mohammed Maktoum Juma Almaktoum, chairman, MBM Groups, Dubai to inaugurate the event has consented to be the chief guest and inaugurate the conference. Founder president of Thumbay Group, Thumbay Moideen will be the special guest on the occasion. The chief guest will award special awards of honor and recognition to Julie Munro, president MTQUA, Dr Saif Al Jaibeji, Dr Saif Al Jaibeji, CEO MEA region united healthcare group, Dr Layla Al Marzouqi, director health regulation department DHA, Linda Abdulla Ali, head of medical tourism office: health regulation department, DHA, UAE, Dr Gbenga Adetimehin managing partner and member of medical tourism and hospital projects advisory board Iheoo Partners, Nigeria and T L S Iyer, general manager SNTTA for their valuable contributions to medical tourism. 

The theme of the conference is destination UAE- health and medical tourism hub, partnership for collaborations. Over 400 delegates including medical tourism experts, doctors, facilitators and insurance agencies are expected to attend the conference.

Very interesting topics are lined up for the conference including trends and outlook of medical tourism – international standards, insurance options for medical tourism business, strategies for sustaining outbound patients, increasing medical tourism: case studies in Thumbay Hospitals UAE and India, best practices for successful medical tourism marketing, medical tourism education– need of the hour and a panel discussion on 'challenges and opportunities in making health and medical tourism hub- destination UAE'.

The conference is accredited by ministry of health for 7 CME hrs and delegates can register for the event for free.

External advisory board: the founder president Thumbay Group Thumbay Moideen has announced the formation of an external advisory board for the Thumbay international medical and health tourism department. International experts have been invited to be on board and the first meeting will be chaired by Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice president healthcare division and board member, Thumbay Group on November 26. The aim of the external advisory board is to formulate strategies and design ways and methods to enhance the scope of medical tourism at Thumbay Hospitals UAE and India, increase activities, patient inflow and enhanced services for medical tourists, increase awareness by hosting international experts and organizing regular scientific events and to align with international standards of facilities and services for medical tourists.
