Riyadh: DKMO celebrates grand annual family get-together

Riyadh, Nov 20: The DKMO (Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota), Riyadh, conducted its annual family get-together with grand success on Nov 12 at Al Rushd Resort, Riyadh. It was a well organized event with around 1500 attendees from all parts of Karnataka.





















Br Basheer Thalapady with a dynamic approach compered the program welcoming all the guests to the dais. The program began with Qiraath by Rashad bin Dawood and was inaugurated by Br Yousuf Saqafi Baithar, presided over by the DKMO president Br Abdul Azeez Bajpe. DKMO general secretary Br Fazulu Rahman Kolkar, the chief guest Br Salauddin Quraishi, DKMO Treasurer, Br AbbasUchil were on stage.

As part of the inaugural speech Br Yousuf Saqafi Baithar, addressed the audience, highlighted DKMO’s charity schemes carried out since its existence. In the explanation of the importance of charity he presented 3 hadith of Islam on charity which comprised of extending a helping hand to other human beings specially orphans, widows and poor needy people. He also narrated the significance and reward of charity in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

The chief guest of the event Br Salahuddin Quraishi described how we get our shadow at Jannah in return for charity works we perform in our life, with the narration of an interesting evidence about the miracle of charity. Addressing the students at the audience, he gave tips on how without earning we can help society by sharing our knowledge and skills with the needy people. He also urged the audience to join as member of DKMO and be part of charity activity.

General secretary Br Fazulu Rahman Kolkar presented the activities and special schemes of DKMO. Special events like Islamic and general topic quiz kept the audience going with great passion. Winners of five teams who participated in the quiz were IFF, Khidma Foundation, DKSC, JF and Panorama. IFF emerged as winners and runners up and shared with JF and DKSC.

Sports and games were conducted under the leadership of Br Haneef N S and Shameer Mangaluru. In tug-of-war, IFF Riyadh emerged as winners and Mango Boys were the runners up. In the volleyball match, Bantwal Friends were the winners and Bankal Friends the runners up. In the push-ups competition Br Shafi Vamanjoor bagged the first prize and Br Muzaffar Bantwal the runners up.

The team from McDonalds entertained the children with spot games and face painting and gave away lots of gifts and free coupons to all the participants.

A free medical camp was conducted by Kadesiya Medical Center led by Santhosh Shetty M D (KMC). Most of the guests benefited by this camp.

For the ladies and children, games, Islamic quiz and a few spot games were conducted by the ladies team.

As part of DKMO anti dowry campaign, a well composed song by Br Shareef Nirmunje was launched, describing the evils of dowry system in society and melodiously explaining how to eradicate this dowry system from society.

The event was sponsored by Al Muzain, Expertise, Universal, Real Tech, Raisco, Al Falah, Al Aad , Well Wisher Bajpe, Nadec, Coca Cola, New-Tech, Radwa Farms, McDonalds and many other individual sponsors.

Delicious food was served under the leadership of Br G K Shiekh Kulur, Br Musthaq Yermal and their team from Al Mas Restaurant Riyadh.

    I attended this function last week! Masha allah! I wud say it was a vry well organized n well executed function I have ever attended in KSA. I thank the members of DKMO and wish them gudluck n hope to c much more function's as such in future. Insha allah.
