Kuwait: KIFF sports meet concludes at GUST ground

Kuwait, Dec 2: The grand sports meet organizes by Kuwait India Fraternity Forum (KIFF) as a part of fraternity fest concluded at the Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST) Ground on November 27.

Hundreds of expats from across Kuwait participated in different competitions of track and field games. 

 

The event which was held in two phases was earlier inaugurated by Kuwait National Football team player Mohammed Rashid Al Otaibi. 

In the Football match, CFC Salmiya won the trophy while Abbasiya Brothers got runners-up. Fahaheel team grabbed the first position in the tug of war competition and Desert Eagle was pushed to second place. Desert Eagle A emerged as a winner in Kabaddi while Desert Eagle B had to satisfy for the runners-up. Kunjal Friends bagged the first prize in the Volleyball and the second prize went to Delhi Friends. 

Majeed Fahaheel won in 100 meters race and Ilyas got second place. Mubeen bagged the first prize in 200 meters running race while Sinan stood second. 

Special awards were presented to the best players in each individual event. Large number of women and children also enjoyed various fun games. Prizes of the Independence Day Quiz competition was also distributed during the programme.

KIFF president, Saifuddin Nalakath presided over the programme. Rasheed Khan, manager, TVS Travels & Cargo, BL Panchal, managing director, Al-Theyab Steel Works, KIFF Kerala Chapter president, Ummer, Karnataka chapter president, Musthakeem, Tamil Nadu Chapter president, Kifayathullah, North Zone president, Shamsheer, Indian Social Forum General secretary Amjath Ali, programme convener Faisal Atholi were also present during the closing ceremony. 

Sakariya delivered the welcome speech. Ibrahim proposed the vote of thanks. Naveez Ali compered the programme. The event was sponsored by Bahrain Exchange Company (BEC).
