Doha: Force India stumps IBQ at Masters Cricket tournament

Doha, Dec 14: The 11th IBQ Masters Cricket tournament 2016 took off at a flying start on Friday December 11 at the Lusail Cricket Complex. Chandramohan Pillai of IBQ was the chief guest and guests of honor were captain Raj Fernandez and Bachu Nazareth of IBQ. The tournament was officially inaugurated by Captain Raj Fernandez and Bachu Nazareth, both playing ball.






IBQ narrowly lost to Force India by 5 runs in the opening match. Put into bat Force India were restricted to 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sudarshan who scored 19 runs with 2 sixes and a boundary, Dinesh 16 runs and Bari 15 runs with a six were the main contributors to the total.

Cedric, Manoj, Bachu, Faraz, Shiby and Ayaz took a wicket each.

In reply, IBQ started slowly and were only 43 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the first 10 overs. Trying to accelerate, IBQ lost wickets and finally could manage only 120 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Faraz was outstanding, scoring 29 runs with 2 sixes. Ayaz was run out for 14 runs with a six. Akalanka bowled excellently to claim 4 wickets while Bari, Shihab and Dhanuska took a wicket each.

Jaidah Motors defeated Bin Yusuf Cargo by 127 runs. Jaidah Motors scored 127 runs for 7 wickets. Prabat scored 34 runs and was not out, Jabar 25 runs and not out, Rasika scored 18 runs. Malik and Abbas took 2 wickets each, Shiju and Niyaz took 1 wicket each.

Bin Yusuf Cargo scored 60 runs and were all out in 14 overs. (Sudeer scored 15 runs and was not out, Jabbar scored 14 runs.

Raju took 2 wickets while Jefri, Sabri, Ansar, Ramesh, Prabhat, Farooq, and Indica took a wicket each.

Qalco defeated Serandeep – A by 4 runs. (Qalco scored 141 runs and were all out in 20 overs. Ifzal scored 22 runs, Jonty 18 runs, Majeed 16 runs, Amal 15 runs. Tharindu took 3 wickets, Raja and Lasantha took 2 wickets each while Sehan and Sanjaya took a wicket each.

Serandeep – A scored 137 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. (Sehan 41 runs and Tharandu 33 runs. Suminda took 3 wickets while Jonty, Muzammal, Hitmi and Tharaka took a wicket each.

ACC defeated Tulukutta by 137 runs. (ACC scored 244 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. (Feroz scored 77 runs with 10 sixes and 2 boundaries, Naveed 34 runs, Majid 27 runs. Taufeek and Kallu took 2 wickets each while Hasmath, Kiran, Arshad and Anwar took a wicket each.)

Tulukutta scored 137 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Kallu scored 21 runs. Naveed took 2 wickets while Feroz, Hameed, Altaf took 1 wicket each.

Serandeep – B defeated Al Shaqab Real Estate by 7 wickets. (Al Shaqab scored 81 runs and were all out in 18 overs. Mashook scored 18 runs. Dammika took 3 wickets, Suresh 2 wickets while Jeevan, Chanaka, Upul and Prakash took a wicket each.)

Serandeep – B scored 85 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 12 overs. (Prakash scored 17 runs, Hassan 16 runs and Upul 14 runs. Mashook, Ishak, Imran Amjad Mirza took a wicket each.)

Hanan XII defeated Engineering Supplies by 23 runs. (Hanan XII scored 174 runs for the loss of 10 wickets, Rauf scored 33 runs, Aswar 27 runs, Imran 18 runs. Rajneesh took 4 wickets, Askar 2 wickets while Sajeer, Namsheed, Prasanth and Tom took a wicket each.)

In reply Engineering Supplies scored 151 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. Namsheed scored 54 runs and were not out, Shajeer scored 31 runs. Aswar and Hisham took 2 wickets each while Nishan, Niyamat, Khader, Husni, Mujeeb, and Zameer took a wicket each.)
