Pics: Oven LewisKuwait, Dec 15: In order to instil the spirit and story of Christmas in young minds and to promote the talents of children during the Christmas season KBWA organized a Christmas celebration on Friday December 11 at Al Durrar Complex, Reggai.
The programme commenced at 1.00 pm with the invocation of God’s blessings and a beautiful Christmas message by Fr Noel D’Almeida. To usher in the Christmas season a beautiful Christmas cake was cut and distributed to all the guests present. The cake was prepared by the member Sharen Lewis.The beautiful theme song of KBWA was sung by the members followed by a warm welcome by the president of the association Gretta D’Souza. Carol singing was performed by the members in three different areawise groups. The main attraction was the entry of Santa Claus which made the small children very excited and Santa Claus distributed presents to all the children.A fancy dress competition on the theme of Christmas was arranged for the children up to the age group of 8 years. Many tiny tots participated in the fancy dress competition depicting the birth of Jesus in their own innocent way and mesmerised the audience with their talent and understanding of the Christmas story.Fr Noel D’Almeida, Florine Lewis and Mable Andrade were the judges of the fancy dress competition.An oral quiz competition for the children in the age group of 8 -18 years and a written quiz for adults on Acts of the Apostles was organized. Many children and adults enthusiastically participated in the quiz competition and showcased their knowledge of Bible teachings. One of the founder members Jerome D’Silva is leaving Kuwait for good and to show the group's gratitude and appreciation for his support and contribution, a loving felicitation and farewell was given.To live the Christmas spirit of sharing and caring a sumptuous lunch consisting of chicken curry, chicken fry, pulao, sannas, variety of salads, vegetables and deserts were prepared by the members and all the members present shared and enjoyed the meal as a community.Children and members showcased their talents by singing and dancing and entertained the audience.
