Jodhpur, Aug 31: Bollywood star Salman Khan was given bail by a court on Friday August 31.  He was arrested and jailed for shooting endangered gazelles during hunting trips nearly a decade ago. 

Khan was arrested on Saturday August 25, a day after a lower court rejected his appeal against his 2006 conviction for killing the endangered animals in the western desert state of Rajasthan in 1998.

The Jodhpur court had upheld the judgement of the local court and sentenced him for five years imprisonment on friday.

The actor has been asked to furnish a bail amount of Rs. 1 lakh.

Salman Khan had been in jail for six days.
