Udupi, Mar 15: A boy who was waiting by the side of the road to cross it was killed by a speeding car that unexpectedly went wayward. The incident occurred on Sunday March 13.

Chirag (13), a resident of Uplady near Bannadi, Kota in the taluk, lost his life in this accident. Chirag had bought some things from a nearby shop and was standing by the side of road to cross it to reach his home, when a car which was moving towards Bannadi from the direction of Viveka High School Kota suddenly moved aside and hit him.

The injured boy was immediately rushed to a hospital at Brahmavar, but he died before any medical help could be extended.

Chirag was a seventh standard student of Paramahamsa aided higher primary school, Bannadi. The car which hit the boy tumbled into roadside ditch, but its driver escaped with minor injuries.
