M'luru: Beary Academy screening documentaries on SC/ST achievers

Mangaluru, Mar 20: "We have inherited values of harmonious coexistence and life of sacrifice handed to the people of the district by our forefathers. This heritage which is noble and exalted, should be imbibed by the current generation, and we should learn to leave in peace and mutual love and affection," said state health and family welfare minister, U T Khader.

He was speaking after initiating screening of selected portions of documentaries on SC/ST achievers prepared by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy about beneficiaries of the state government's special unit scheme and tribal pilot scheme.

MLA, J R Lobo released documentaries on achievers from scheduled castes and tribes, Deekayya Padmunja and Padmanabha Naringana.

Academy president, B A Muhammed Hanif, presided. Mangalore Urban Development Authority chairman, Ibrahim Kodijal, city corporator, Abdul Aziz Kudroly, and Kavoor Buntara Sangha president, M S Shetty Sarapady participated as chief guests.

Academy registrar, Umarabba, welcomed. Members, Zohara Abbas, proposed vote of thabks. Abdullatif Neralakatte presented the programme.
