Rapid Vienna fined $22,000 for offensive banner

Vienna, March 29 (IANS): Rapid Vienna has said it has been fined 20,000 euros ($22,400) by European football's governing body UEFA after the Austrian football club's ultras raised a banner with rude and offensive language in the stands during a match against Valencia.

Rapid Vienna faced Valencia in the UEFA Europa League knockouts on February 25 at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, where the Spanish club won 4-0, reports Efe.
