Mangalore Oct 4: ‘Elders day’ was celebrated At St. Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia here on Sunday September 30 as part of the celebration of World Elders’ day.

The programmes began at 10.30 am with confession and the Holy Eucharist followed by anointment of the sick. In all 140 senior citizens actively participated in the function.

Parish priest Fr Bonaventure Nazareth inaugurated the programme. In the course of the programme Arun Raj conducted various fun games, whereas Dolphy Saldhana entertained gathering with jokes. Altar boys and choir members presented the dances and songs. Elders too displayed their talents by cracking jokes and singing old Konkani songs. The programme ended with lunch.

Vice-president Arun Raj Rodrigues, secretary Flavia Sequeira, former vice-president Louis Pinto, Fr William Barocas, gurkars of the various wards were also present.
