Mangaluru, Apr 7: “State government should implement recommendations of Kumar Nayak. From past 18 years, PU teachers are appealing the government to resolve discrepancies in salary. If government implements our demands, we will resume evaluation,” said B Sarswathi president of Dakshina Kannada PU Teachers' Association.

She was addressing the press meet at press club here on Thursday April 7.

“Prior to boycotting the evaluation process, PU teachers conducted PU examinations wearing black badges and tried to get the attention of government. On January 8,  associations from various districts demanding justice submitted memorandum to the chief minister through the respective deputy commissioners.”

“Association also staged protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on January 13 to draw the attention of the government to their long-standing demand and memorandum was submitted to the CM and education minister.”

“This protest is not to create problems to students but to get the long pending demands of PU teachers. Parents and students should also understand the problem faced by the PU teachers.”

“The government has invited us for a dialogue and association leaders in the capital will attend it. The government should resolve the issue as soon as possible,” she demanded.

On the occasion Cherian, B Ningayya N Duggappa and Jayaram were present.
