Mangaluru, Apr 17: Amid reports in a section of the media of a 'raid' on city's Expert PU College by CID officers in connection to the leak of second PU chemistry exam paper, the management of the College has denied that there was a raid and clarified that the visit of the officers was only to collect some information as part of their investigation.
The clarification, issued by Narendra Nayak, chairman of Expert Educational And Charitable Foundation, states:
"There was no 'CID raid' on our college. It was a visit of CID officers continuing their investigation with regard to PU paper leak where they collected certain information and verified the documents from the college office. As socially responsible citizens we have provided all the documents as per their request and have co-operated with them.
"But some channels and persons are spreading defamatory statements through Whatsapp, Facebook and TV channels which is shocking and disturbing. Since 29 years Expert has been committed to provide excellent education with the help of experienced faculty.
"We have lived upto the mission statement of our Institution 'Shrama Eva Jayate' - 'Hard work alone is the key to success', and have achieved merits and accolades only through the hard work of dedicated teachers and committed students. It has never been 'desperate way' to get 'easy and quick success' through wrong ways. The immense support and high regards of a large number of student and parent community for the institution itself is a testimonial to our sincere and honest work.
"We are not involved in PU question paper leak case. A visit by CID officials for verification as part of their investigation is exaggerated as a 'raid'. It is completely baseless and unethical."
Narendra Nayak also said that the management has filed a defamation complaint with the city police commissioner against persons/organizations circulating allegations of the 'raid'.
"It clearly appears to us that some anti-social elements with evil aims of bringing discredit to the name of the institution are working behind the scenes. We have already filed a defamation complaint against this to the commission of police, Mangaluru. The large student and parent community associated with this reputed Institution will be fighting against this grave new accusation against our reputed Institution," the letter states.
"We hope that the CID investigation will be completed soon and the real accused will be punished. We assure to cooperate with the government officials in this regard. Till then it is our humble request that no one should pass on or forward wrong messages regarding this incident without knowing the reality," Nayak urged.
