Kasargod, Jun 28: The case in which the body of a person was found from a well in a farm at Bajakoodlu got an interesting turn after police began investigation into the case from the angle of murder.

A person named Sundar had gone missing from June 19 onwards, and his family members had filed missing complaint in Badiyadka station. On June 21, Sundar's body was found from the well inside the farm belonging to Rama Nayak (52), a resident of Bajakoodlu. The policemen, locals and relatives of Sundar had suspected that Sundar would have slipped and fallen into well when walking by its side.

However, the postmortem report has pinpointed the cause of death as electrocution. This has made the policemen to believe that Sundar had died after stepping on electric fencing meant to manage wild animals menace. They believe that to avoid getting tried for laying electric fencing illegally, the body was dumped into the well after Sundar was electrocuted. There is a distance of about 300 metres between the fencing and the well. In this connection, the police have taken into custody Rama Nayak.

The police also feel that it is not possible for a single person to carry the corpse on his own for 300 metres, and they are trying to figure out whether more persons were involved. Surgeon of Pariyaram Medical College Hospital, Prof Gopalakrishna Pillai, visited the spot and collected details. Pillai had conducted postmortem of the mortal remains of Sundar.
