Mangalore: IAF Team of Mobike Riders on Expedition Arrives in City

Mangalore, Nov 14: A 10-member air force personnel who had left on five motorbikes from 405 air force station from Belgaum on Sunday November 11 reached the city on Tuesday November 13.

The team arrived in the city on motorbikes, mainly to create a comprehensive awareness in the minds of the youth and people at large living in the state about the skills of the IAF, and to motivate them to join IAF.

Speaking to reporters, Samrat Pal Choudhury, team leader informed that in order to mark the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Indian Air Force (IAF), this expedition on motorbikes was conducted.

According to Choudhury the main objective of this motorbike expedition is to take IAF to different parts of the state and create awareness among people especially in those areas where there is no base.

The team reached the city after travelling via Karwar. Later they left for Kozhikode. They will be returning to Belgaum via Bangalore. On the way the team visited one school and the naval base at Karwar and met the coast guards of the city.

Moreover they also visited St Aloysius high school.  Samrat Pal Choudhury spoke on the various choices and career opportunities available to the students and hence exhorted them to join the IAF.

The members of the team interacted with students too. Later Choudhury presented a CD to the school headmaster Fr Melwyn Pinto, which contained information on the air force.

S K Mehta, R K Malik, Shiv Shankar, L S Netaji, V K Pathak, C R Rao, S Sachdeva, Aviney and H Arun were the other members of the team.
