La Caverne du Pont d'Arc (France), Jul 16 (IANS): Dutch rider Tom Dumoulin (Giant) has won Stage 13 of the 2016 Tour de France cycling tournament, a 36.5 kilometre (22 mile) individual time-trial run between Bourg-Saint-Andeol and La Caverne du Pont d'Arc.
Dumoulin crossed the line in 51 minutes and fifteen seconds on Friday, reports Efe.
Chris Froome (Team Sky) retained the yellow jersey, ranking number one in the overall general classifications.
Froome also finished second in the stage, 0:01:03 behind Dumoulin, followed by Portugal's Nelson Oliveira.
Dutch rider Bauke Mollema (Trek Factory) moved up to second place in the overall rankings, 0:01:47 behind Froome, pushing Briton, Adam Yates (Orica Bike Exchange) into third place, 0:02:45 behind the leader.
Friday's stage went ahead with increased security in light of the attacks in Nice on Thursday evening with many riders taking to social media to voice their support for the victims.
Chris Froome tweeted a picture of the French flag and wrote: "thoughts are with those affected by the horrific terror attack in Nice".
Today's stage winner, Dumoulin, reiterated the message via his Twitter account.
A minute's silence was also held at the end of the stage.
Saturday's Stage 14 of the Tour, features a 208.5 km (130 mile) run from Montelimar to Villars-Les-Dombes Parc des Oiseaux.
