Mumbai: Bantara Sangha celebrates annual sports festival

Mumbai, Feb 1: The sports committee of Bunts Sangha, here celebrated its annual sports festival on Chembur Tilaknagar Sahyadri Mandal Sports Ground on Sunday January 29. Sports mandal president Rahul Valanj was present. Well known cricketer Rahul Dravid inaugurated the festival.

Former president of the sangha, Bhujanga M Shetty, Sudhakar S Hegde, Dr Padmanabha V Shetty, Aikala Harish Shetty, convener of the Sangha Povai, S M Shetty, education committee executive president Jayarama N Shetty and others were present. The festival was set in motion after balloons were released skyward.

Prabhakar L Shetty inaugurated the mobile app. Bunts Sangha vice president Padmanabha S Payyade, honorary chief secretary Ulthooru Mohandas Shetty, honorary treasurer CA I R Shetty, joint secretary Kishore Kumar Shetty Kuthyar, joint treasurer Mahesh S Shetty, women's wing executive president Latha Jayarama Shetty, Bantara Sangha Kurla Bhandup regional committee executive president CA Vishwanath Shetty and other office bearers, heads of sub committees and regional committees were present.

Thousands of community members and others were present at the festival. Harini M Shetty of Kurla Bhandup regional committee, Sarojini Shetty and Shalini Shetty sang the prayer. Sports committee executive president Gautham S Shetty welcomed everyone. Jaya A Shetty introduced the guests. Ashok Pakkala, Harish Vasu Shetty and Karnooru Mohan Rai compered the programme. Ulthooru Mohandas Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
