Udupi, Feb 3: A bull whose leg was severed allegedly by miscreants to transport it to the slaughterhouse was saved with great difficulty by the forest brigade and given to a byre.
 
The incident was reported on February 3. Butchers had partly cut the rear leg of a bull on the ground near Manipal School of Communications to take to butchery.

However, they could not take it in the tempo. Students who saw the suffering bull informed the public.

After receiving credible information, social activist Nithyananda Olakadu tried his best with the help from Malpe fire brigade staff to catch the bull. But the bull in between pain, fear and anger tried to attack the people and the fire brigade staff.
 
However, once the animal got stuck to the noose of rope, veterinary doctors injected it with tranquiliser, tied its legs with rope, kept it in the tempo and shifted it to veterinary laboratory and then to the byre.
