Mangaluru, Feb 22: Venkappa Poojary (54), resident of Sundari Bagh in Ullal here, lost his life on Wednesday February 22 morning after having been hit by a train. The accident occurred when Poojary was walking on the railway tracks near the Thokkottu over bridge.

Venkappa was from Dharmanagara in Ullal. Since the last some years, he had been living in a rented home in Sundari Bagh. He was working as mason. He was walking towards his work site on the railway tracks when he was knocked down by a train. Venkappa is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter.

Ullal police as well as personnel of railway protection force arrived at the spot and conducted inquest.
