Mangalore: ‘Smart Kid Contest ‘08’ on April 14 at Kirem

Mangalore, Mar 6: ‘Smart Kid Contest ‘08’ will be held on Monday April 14, in association with LIC Agents Association, Udupi division, Catholic Sabha of Udupi and Our Lady of Remedies parish, Kirem Unit, Rotary Club of Kinnigoli and ALOHA Kinnigoli and Mulky, at Kirem Church auditorium, informed Rajan M D'Costa of LIC, Udupi division, here at a press conference on Thursday March 6.

The contestants ageing from six months to 18 years may contest under seven categories, such as categories A, B, C, D, E, F and G, he informed.

Each category has four prizes, including championship. It must be noted that all participants will be given certificates of participation. Entry fee will be Rs 60 per person. Entries could be either individual or group and entry from education institutions will also be encouraged. The last date to submit the applications will be Wednesday April 2, he emphasized.

When daijiworld enquired on the intention of organizing the contest, D'Costa said that every child is special and every child has one or other talent hidden. It is the utmost duty of parents and elders to bring the hidden talent to the fore. As many as 5000 contestants are expected to participate.

Other organizers of the contest were also present at the press conference.
