Mangalore, Mar 7: Congress is facing no internal rift at any level and allegations made by the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in this regard are baseless, asserted B Janardan Poojary, senior congress leader at the party office here on Friday March 7.

Ruling out the widespread suppositions that Krishna's return to state politics will lead to divide, Poojary added that Krishna's return will definitely strengthen the party and thus Congress future is secured with Krishna's return.  

Terming the allegations made by BJP leaders as 'statements made under insecurity,' he asserted that BJP and JD(S) have realized that they will bite the dust in the impending assembly polls. Making these allegations was their final resort as both BJP and JD(S) are anxious of their unsure future, he added.

Defending himself that the party is not facing the problem of plenty, Poojary articulated that Congress culture is unlike the culture followed by other political parties. Here consultation of senior party members is a must and decision of the high command is final. Hence confusion or differences of opinion is a non-existing entity. 

Indicating that congress will use misrule and anti-people attitude of BJP and JD(S) as the agenda of the election campaign, Poojary said nothing prevents congress from having an edge over the parties.

Hailing the union budget, he said the budget has satisfied all sections of the society. The farmer fraternity and the needy are the prime focus of the budget. UPA is committed in protecting the interests of farmers in its 11th plan and it is going ahead to achieve 4% of growth in the agricultural sector. On the whole 4 crore of farmers will benefit from the budget, he added.
