Mangalore, Mar 9: Self-Help Group (SHG) scheme is playing a pivotal role in empowering women, informed M N Rajendra Kumar, president of the Karnataka State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd (KSCABL) here.
 
He was delivering the presidential address at the concluding ceremony of the Rural Small Scale Entrepreneurship Development (RSSED) training programme 2007-08, sponsored by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
 
People will gain self-confidence by starting rural industries with micro finance and the entreprenurs must also give loans, inorder to educate their childern, he urged on the occasion.
 
Harinakshi, member of Ekkuru Mangalajyothi Navodaya SHG, inaugurated the function. Kavita, the motivator proposed the vote of thanks and Sumitra Suresh compered the programme.
