Mangalore: IFF to Organize Two-day Muslim Maha Sammelana

Mangalore, Mar 10: Islamic Friends Fund (IFF) will organize a two-day Muslim Maha Sammelan, an awareness conference on the adverse impact of dowry and other social evils on Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16 at Azad Nagar near Bengre here, said B Hassan Hajji of the organizing committee here at a press conference on Monday March 10.

'Shikshana Sangama,' to be held on Sunday March 16, will be inaugurated by Dr M Maheshwar Rao, DC of DK district. The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by Abdul Rahoof Puttige, president of Talent Foundation, DK district. Abdul Aziz Daarimi, cleric of Kallega Juma Masjid of Puttur and M B Abdul Rehman, president of Kendra Beary Parishat will deliver the keynote address, he added.

A C Vinay Raj, chief secretary of the district Congress and others will be the chief guest for the occasion, Hajji added.

The concluding ceremony, to be held on the same day, will be inaugurated by K S M Mohammad Masood, president of Muslim Central Committee, DK and Udupi Districts. BA Moiddin, former minister for higher education and others will be the chief guests.

K S M Mohammad Masood and UT Khader, former MLA of Ullal and others will be felicitated on the occasion, Hajji informed.

Other members of the organizing committee were present at the press conference.
