Bantwal, Jul 8: It is learnt that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, has received death threat through social website, Facebook. This provocative post was found in 'Mangalore Muslims' Facebook page on Friday July 7 evening.
As soon as the post got lot of attention and spread through other channels, it was deleted. The post questioned as to whether terrorist, Bhat's body would be draped in national flag to accord him respect upon his death, or saffron flag will be preferred. It also asked people to decide soon as it was last day in the life of Prabhakar Bhat.
After this post hogged limelight, information came that RSS worker, Sharath, who was attacked by miscreants, who was battling for life in a hospital, lost his battle. Thereafter, another inciting post which stated that 'another wicket fell at A J Hospital, when will it happen at Kalladka',appeared in the same Facebook page. After some people objected to it, this post too was deleted in course of time.
There are claims that such provocative posts which are meant to incite people belonging to another religion are regularly appearing in 'Mangalore Muslims' Facebook page the backdrop of communally tense situation in the district since sometime. Many have criticized police department for becoming silent spectators to such developments which have the potential of playing havoc with peace in the society.
In response to this threat, Bhat said that God alone can decide about the timing of his death and not anyone else. "We are involved with the task of building the society. Everyone knows the identities of terrorists. I believe that God decides how long one should live, not people who post such threats," he commented. Bhat added that for him such threats are not new and that his nature is such that he does not get bogged down by such things. He said that if someone tries to kill him, people will not remain mute spectators. He urged the police to take immediate steps against people who are uploading such provocative posts.
