Belthangady, May 23: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Peoples' Awareness Forum has urged the government to initiate stern measures to stop illicit liquor trade.

Hundreds have lost their lives in and around Bangalore, by consuming hooch. Their dependents face a very bleak future. The bane of liquor has rung warning bells for the concerned in the state. The government has to step in and initiate strong measures to curb spurious liquor business, demanded district president of the forum Vasant Salian, through a release.
