Congress Blames Vote Split for Poor Show in Karnataka

Bangalore / New Delhi, May 25: The Congress on Sunday virtually conceded defeat in Karnataka Assembly polls, saying getting an absolute majority was not absolutely possible because of the three-way split in votes.

Union Minister and AICC General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka Prithviraj Chavan said the party may not be able to reach the half-way mark.

The reason, he said, was that with the JD(S) doing well in a limited way, secular votes were divided and that affected the Congress.

Asked whether it was possible for the party to align with the JD(S), he said these decisions would be taken at the level of the Congress Working Committee and the party high command.

He also blamed the delayed delimitation and defective voters' list as reasons that contributed to the Congress' bad performance.

    This election showed some kind of real threat to all old leaders and defeated / corrupted politicians who are responsible for spoiling our fertile land value /developments/ and created poverty for all over for poor segment of people in many areas of karnakaka specially in agricultural field which is our main source of income . I am very happy this young generation voted for the right candidate and expect good work from them for their representing constituency.

    At this stage I would suggest people of karnataka chosen right party which is BJP compare to Conges or JDS. In the mean time BJP leaders should not forget as per their commitment and work hard towards the developments of the state in all area not like Gowdas strategy orMr poojaries silly statement which is lifting arrack.. BJP also should give full support to Karnataka lokayouth officers who can get ride of corruption and make all government people work properly, I have seen my self cities like UDUPI specially in police force, and other government officials takes huge amount of money from local business people for their work with out following the rules of our nation/state.
