Udupi: Pillion rider killed in collision of motor bikes

Udupi, Sep 3: The pillion rider of one of the motor bikes lost his life after two motor bikes collided with each other on Friday September 1. This tragic incident happened near the petrol bunk at Indrali here.

Bhaskar S Shetty (67), who was the unlucky pillion rider, had come to the city. He was from Nadiktrebettu, Ninjoor, Karkala. He had come here with his son in the latter's motor bike on some work. The accident happened when he was going back home.

It is said that the accident happened when another motor bike rider suddenly turned towards the petrol bunk without giving any signal of his intention to do so.

Bhaskar Shetty, who had suffered deep injuries to his head, had been admitted  into KMC Hospital at Manipal for treatment. However, he breathed his last at the hospital sometime later.

Son of the deceased, Prathviraj, too was injured in this accident. He is being treated in the hospital. A case about the accident was registered in Manipal police station.
