Mangalore, May 27: Paulin Menezes, a 67-year-old woman was electrocuted in Kanchigarakodi in Ammunje village, when she accidentally came into contact with a live wire, on Monday May 26.
The tragedy occured when she was returning from a forest nearby. The policemen and the officials of Mescom, visited the place. The villagers were found to be strongly critical of the functioning of Mescom. They said, that the department is callous to the dangers posed by several live wires which are either dangling or fallen to the ground owing to the strong winds and rains that lashed the region recently. They have demanded for payment of suitable compensation to the family of the deceased, from Mescom.
