Chikkamagaluru, Sep 4: A man, who suspected the character of his wife, tried to kill her by repeatedly hitting her  with his car on Saturday September 2. The incident happened at Billur village in Moodigere taluk.

The person who attempted to kill the woman was Praveen from Billur village. The victim was his wife, K V Ashwini.

Praveen and Ashwini had married 20 years back. Soon differences arose, and Praveen often fought with his wife, as he suspected   her to be having an affair. Frustrated by repeated fights, Ashwini began to live alone away from her husband.

On Saturday, Ashwini had parked her car and was standing by the side of her car. Praveen who came there, scolded her with choicest words. Then he hit her twice with his car before fleeing.

Ashwini, who suffered serious  injuries, stands admitted into a private hospital at Mysuru. Her car was badly damaged in the incident. A complaint was registered in Banakal police station. The police are trying to locate the whereabouts of Praveen.
