Mangaluru: ICYM episcopal city deanery celebrates 'Yaaron Ka Diwas'

Mangaluru, Sep 4: ICYM episcopal city deanery in collaboration with ICYM Thannirbavi unit, on September 3, organised Friendship Day celebrations with the theme 'Yaaron Ka Diwas – 2K17' at Thannirbavi Tree Park.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by Fr Alban Rodrigues, parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Thannirbavi, and members of ICYM Thannirbavi unit.

Ashok Denzil D’Souza, president, ICYM Thannirbavi Unit welcomed the gathering. Sweeny Maria D’Souza, joint secretary, ICYM episcopal city deanery gave an introduction on Friendship Day.


    




















The programme was inaugurated by Fr Alban Rodrigues by cutting Friendship Day cake along with ICYM episcopal city deanery executive members,
unit presidents and secretaries as a mark of sharing love, happiness and as a sign of creating a bond between ICYM ECD members. Birthday buddies of September Astron Menezes, Bejai and  Jackson Fernandes, Milagres cut their birthday cake.

Fr Alban Rodrigues gave the key note address on the importance of Friendship as well on friendship day. Rorthan Agnel Coelho, secretary, ICYM Thannirbavi unit along with Ashwitha Coelho, ECD representative, ICYM Thannirbavi unit conducted the ice breaker session and games.

Aeren Lobo and Ronald Fernandes, former presidents of ICYM episcopal City Deanery were present for the programme.

Games and refreshments were a part of the celebration.

Rolston Peris, Milagres, vice president, ICYM Episcopal City Deanery proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Roshan D’Cunha, deanery director, ICYM episcopal city deanery thanked all the members for their active participation in the programme and for making the unique event a memorable and successful one.

Frenton Irol D’Souza, Cascia, president, ICYM episcopal city deanery compered the programme.

A total of 45 youths were present for the fun filled and memorable evening.
