Udupi, Sep 8: Well-known actor and director, Prakash Rai, has been chosen for the 13th annual 'Dr Karantha Huttura Prashasti'. The award in the name of celebrated multi-talented Dr Karanth is given to persons following ideologies for which Karanth stood.

This information was given by Anand C Kunder, working president of Dr Karantha Pratishtana, Kota. He said that Kotathattu gram panchayat would be holding a ten-day event to the run up to the awards ceremony which will be held on October 10. In addition to 'Tambelaru - 2017', which will be held on all these ten days, various debates, plays, health check up, poets meet, children's festival, workshops, seminars, film screening etc will be held during this period, he explained.

Prakash Rai from Puttur has excelled in films in all southern languages besides Bollywood. He also has directed some excellent films. He has worked in over 300 movies and won national award.
