Mangalore, May 29: Vasundhara Ballal, an amateur artist will be exhibiting 14 of her ceramic paintings on Saturday May 31 at Dhyana Mandir in Sharada Vidyalaya campus, Kodialbail here.
The exhibition titled 'CERWAVES' will be inaugurated by Nitte Education Trust president N Vinay Hegde, while Ananthakrishna, chairman of Karnataka Bank Ltd will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing media persons here on Thursday May 29, Vasundhara Ballal observed that ceramic paintings are unique and entirely different from other forms of paintings. Progression and continuity are the main features of ceramic paintings, and it takes nearly 25 to 35 days to complete a painting, she added.
Vasundhara, a postgraduate in English, philosophy and an MBA in personnel management, nurtured a passion for painting after visiting Prasad Art Gallery while enrolling her daughter to the institution, where she came across rich creative talents of painters.
She also revealed that two of her paintings were sold for a price of Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
The paintings will be on display from Saturday May 31 to Monday June 2 at Sharada Vidyalaya. The exhibition will thereafter continue at Prasad Art Gallery, Ballalbagh from Tuesday June 3 to Saturday June 7.
